A Tailor native of Bangalore, swindled Rs 1 lac from a man near Bagalur by swapping ATM card, with a pretext of helping to take account statement.
Shankar (24) a native of Bagalur lives in Therpettai area along with his mother.
Shankar took his mother’s ATM card to a nearby ATM to take mini statement of account. As the ATM machine was not functioning properly, he sought help of a man who was standing outside the ATM.
The man tried to take the mini statement collecting PIN details along with the ATM card. Even his try failed to give a proper mini statement.
Soon after, the man gave back ATM card to Shankar and vanished. Shankar was at home, while his mother’s mobile alerted him that he has purchased Rs 1 lac worth materials using the card.
Afraid over the alert, he rushed check the ATM card he was having to find out that the card is a fake and has been swapped by that unknown man.
Shankar rushed to Bangalur police, who found the man to be Manjunath (26), a tailor working in Sivapura near Thottapellapura near Bangalore.
Police arrested Manjunath and recovered Rs 1 lac worth products from him.
