Securities at Chandira Choodeshwarar Sivan Temple located on the hill top, who were on duty on day before yesterday, noticed in CCTV, thieves at their job, trying to break open the main gate with the help of Kadappaarai.
They noticed that one of the thief is staying outside the temple, while 5 were on their job.
Security Rangan alerted fellow personnel and they took wooden logs to attack the thieves and catch hold of them.
Two north hindian thieves held:
Thieves tried to attack the securities with knives and other weapons. Rangan managed to over power one of the north hindian by attacking him with the wooden log. Five others managed to escape.
Rangan called up police and detailed the event. Police rushed to the spot and managed to catch another one, while four others managed to escape.
Search for four others:
Police inquired with the north hindians in their own style. With the information received from the men held, police were able to locate the other four and took them into their custody.
Arrested 6 were identified as 2 from Nepal, 1 from Sikkim and other 3 from Arunachal.
The thieves have come to Hosur on day before yesterday. They have gone to the temple in the morning and have worshiped the Lord. After properly worshiping, they noted the statues and presentation box locations. They slept in the park nearby on the hill top itself.
While every one was asked to move out from the temple premises, the 6 member gang stayed back, hiding in the dark.
Police are conducting enquiry on whether attempted robbery in the temple is the only crime they have involved or have already looted several other places before visiting the temple.
