Car thieves held near Hosur

Mathu (32) is a vegetable merchant and native of Mollampatti village near Rayakkottai.

On 6th of this month, he bought vegetables from a vegetable farm near Uththanapalli and was returning to his village.

On the way home, near Akrakaaram Murukan koil, he parked his car and went to attend nature’s call.

It is said that he left the key in the car itself as he was just standing near the vehicle to piss.

By that time, three young men came in a Honda Activa motorbike near to the car, two of them entered the car and drove away the car, while the other managed to escape in the bike, even before Mathu realised the theft.

Mathu lodged a kaaval complaint with Uththanapalli kaaval.

Day before yesterday, Uththanapalli police were on their routine checking vehicles near Lalikkal Bus stop.

Police noticed two young men on a Honda Activa bike crossing the area. Police stopped them and inquired. As the young men gave contradictory statements, further inquiry was conducted with them.

The young men revealed that it was them, who drove away Mathu’s car. They were identified as Santosh and Anand, both aged 22 years and were native of Choodaapuram village near Hosur.

Police arrested the duo and recovered the car and bike from them, as both were stolen vehicles. The third person Sivaraman of Onnalvadi is still managing to escape from police.
