All round the year, elephants come as single or as a heard to Hosur and its surrounding area. They used to be entertainer on several occasion and also a spoiler.
These elephants migrate from deep reserved forest areas of Denkanikottai, Anchetty and Anekal. They come here on search of food and water.
As of now, around 80 elephants are stationing near Hosur at Sanamavu kaappuk kaadu. They have already spoiled crop grown in more than 50 acres of farm land. As farmers wanted the heard to be out from their area, forest officials planned and worked to chase the heard out from agri land areas to reserved forest area.
As one of the female elephant has delivered a baby calf, forest officials have stopped their chasing work as the little one is not able to move fast.
Meanwhile a single elephant is roaming around Denkanikottai area, which is entering into villages and remaining as a threat there.
