Muzammil (20), a resident of Anekal and Amar (25), resident of Chandapuram, on 15th June 2016, killed Munuswamy, head constable in Hosur police station, when Munuswamy tried to nab the accused. They were out on bail from Salem prison recently. Though non bailable Goondas act was slapped on the duo, they managed to get bail and has moved to Pengkalooru. They both are wanted in 11 cases registered in various police stations in Karunatakam alone.
Pengkalooru police shot at two habitual offenders who attacked them and tried to flee at Chikkana-yakana-halli on the city’s outskirts on Sunday morning.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (White Field) Abdul Ahad said a robbery complaint had been filed by software engineer Anand on Saturday night. The complainant detailed that, he was walking on Sarjapura Main Road at 11 pm on Saturday night, when four miscreants in two bikes stopped him, attacked him and robbed him of his mobile phone. On receiving the complaint, four police teams of Bellandur and Varthur police were formed to nab the culprits.
During patrolling on Sunday morning, the police noticed two abandoned bikes near a Theyilai thottam on Sarjapur Road.
Soon, a team traced Muzammil and Amar nearby. Police asked them to surrender, but the suspects refused. The duo attacked head constable Anthony and another policeman Vinay with a knife.
Bellandur inspector Victor Simon shot them in their legs and they fell down. The police shifted them to hospital for treatment. Vinay and Anthony are also undergoing treatment.
