While Hosur’s ex-municipal chairman and present Hosur MLA cum a Tamil Nadu minister Balakrishnan is missing from this area for more than a month now, Hosur and its surrounding is suffering from official mis-management.
Due to repeated monsoon failure, rapid population growth, fast development in real estates etc., has now brought in already water scarcity zone of Hosur into much more worst condition.
Land encroachments, particularly water bodies has become a norm for Hosur, while top officials either keep a blind eye or participate aligning with real estate mafias. Even if they act, its more for self advertisement than for a real purpose.
Official mechanism remains lazy as usual, taking no steps to solve drinking water problem.
Nagamangalam village area near Kelamangalam is a zone which produce sugarcane and paddy and a water rich area, which is now suffering under water scarcity, thanks to officials who had no plan for this monsoon failed year.
People from Varakaanapalli village held a demonstration in front of VAO office in Kelamangalam, blaming that, unauthorized water connection is given to several farm houses in the area from the waterline that provides water to the village. They also blamed that, due to illegal water connection given to rich farm house owners, the villagers are suffering with no drinking water.
Sensing that the agitation will bring out more malpractices of the officials, officials acted swiftly and removed all unauthorized water connections and promised the villagers that, water will be supplied to them properly.
