Hosur surveyor murder case was solved, arresting almost all the accused and finding out that, its pombala matter behind the murder.
Kuvalaichezhiyan (42), who served as Surveyor for Hosur municipality has become filthy rich, thanks to his style of demanding bribe and his real-estate business. Kuvalaichezhiyan is native of Pennagaram in Daramapuri district.
Ms Karthikeyini a native of Salem is married and settled in Hosur, but had illicit relationship with a man called Imran @ Ikramulla.
Meanwhile, with the realestate links, Kuvalaichezhiyan met Karthikeyini and both have teamed up, making Karthikeyini to dump Imran.
Couple of days before, in search of Karthikeyini, Imran has come to Hosur and demanded her to come with him to Salem, for which the woman has refused.
She has discussed the financial background of Kuvalaichezhiyan with Imran and the duo has planned to extract money from him.
For this, they have abducted him on May 27 and made a call to his wife K Revathi (39) who is serving as Asst Superintendent of office in TNEB.
The gang brought nylon rope, 10 litres of petrol and reached Vaniyambadi with an ultimate motive to kill Kuvalaichezhiyan. The gang initially demanded Rs. 1 crore from Chezhian’s wife.
Revathi is said to have arranged Rs 45 lacs in cash within 12 hours time.
It is also said that, Revathi has gone with the cash to a location near Vaniyambadi and as she failed to locate the gang there, she approached ASP of Hosur for help.
Learning that police is in search for them, the gang has killed Kuvalaichezhiyan and tried to orchestrate a drama that the car was burnt due to road accident and hence he was burnt to death.
In the early morning on Saturday (28th May), the residents of Ramamoorthy Nagar, near Theevattipatti in Salem district spotted a car engulfed in flames. As they approached the burning vehicle, they saw two persons emerging from the smoke.
The duo made a run to escape, after seeing the villagers. While one of them managed to flee, the other was caught by the villagers, who handed him over to the Theevattipatti police. The man was later identified as V. Sakthivel (35) of Vellalapatti of Salem District.
Inquiries with Sakthivel revealed that he was working with Imran @ Ikramulla of Salem in his multi-level marketing business for the past three years and was also his car driver on many occasions. Ikramulla hired a mercenary, Kalaivanan of Kotta Goundampatti in Omalur, to murder him.
Based on inquiries, the police picked up D. Chinnavar (21) on Sunday and M. Murugan (23), M. Prabhu (26), R. Chitturaj (21), all from Kitchipalayam in Salem and A. Raja (30) of Kamalapuram on Monday.
The six arrested were produced in the court and lodged at Salem Central Prison while search is on for Ikramulla and Kalaivanan.
Though the case was investigated with an angle related to competition and murder in real estate businesses, police does not fail to consider other reasons for the crime.
