Couple of days before a Kutti yaanai – Baby elephant was rescued from a 30 feet depth dry well by forest officials.
On Tuesday (16.01.2018) of this week, about 30 elephants came from Udethurkam forest area near Rayakottai to Paavadarapatti village during early morning.
A 3 month kutti elephant that came with the gang, by mistake fell into a 30 feet well, which was dry.
As elephants and the baby elephant made noise for help, villagers informed forest officials, who, after struggling for about 6 hours, rescued the elephant.
Forest officials took the smaller one to the forest area and tried to unite it with the mother elephant.
But after a, on Wednesday, it came our from the forest and reached Ullukurukkai village.
Villagers, again called forest officials. Officials fed the baby elephant fruits and milk. Later, they took the baby to forest area and let it there, as it’s mother has moved into deep forest area.
Once again, the baby elephant has reached human area and this time came to Puram village near Udethurkam forest area. It came around 4.30 am.
Forest officials gave the baby Thurpoosani, Lactogen, Glucose and Milk.
Forest officials are doing their best to make the baby elephant get united with the mother elephant, but worry, whether the mother will accept its baby.
