On 13th of this month, a 13 year old school girl Tejashree, doing her 8th standard in Azagapuram in Salem was found murdered inside her house at Vanniar Street in the same area, with a slit injury in her neck.
Police investigation revealed that the murder was linked with an love affair of the girl’s elder sister.
Within few hours, the killers identified as Uva Adhiththan and his accomplice Sasikumar were arrested and an investigation with them revealed that Uva Adhiththan has married Tejashree’s elder sister Harini, in a temple near Bavani and both of their parents were not informed on the same.
While Harini and Uva Adhiththan, were doing their engineering graduation in a private college in Thiruchengodu, both have fell in love and 22 year old Uva Adhiththan has completed his BE in Aeronautical while Harini has completed BE in other domain. Harini’s parents have learnt about the marriage and has warned Uva Adhiththan to keep away from their daughter.
As Harini got a job in Chennai, her parents took her in their control and refused to reveal the whereabouts of Hairini to Uva Adhiththan, though he has made several requests to them to know the details, atleast her mobile number.
According to Uva Adhiththan, he and accomplice Sasikumar have gone to Harini’s house at Salem only to get details of Harini and to threaten the family they have gone with a knife. As it was Tejashree was only available at home, they have threatened her with a knife and by mistake it has slit the throat of the girl. As the girl fell down, both managed to escape but caught in police custody.
Now, according to police, both the men have broken legs as both slipped while recovering clothes and knife used in the murder. Surprisingly, no police personal has such injury – will human rights watchers will look into this?
