Berikai police conducted a vehicle check near check post on Masti - Berikai Road on the day of the incident.

A car that came that way was stopped and searched, it was revealed that there were 4 packets of Kanchaa (cannabis) in the car.  The material was packed as 250 grams each. 

Following this, two persons namely  Ranganathan (39) of Karupalaa village,  and Ujjiniappa alias Manjunath (38) of Patta-gurupara-palli near Choolagiri have been arrested and are being investigated.
