A shocking incident took place during a Vinayagar idol procession in Nanjanapuram near Hosur.
While transporting a 10-foot Vinayagar idol with the help of a crane, a private company employee who was riding along tragically came in contact with a live wire and was electrocuted.

He was rushed to a nearby private hospital but was declared dead.
The idol was part of a public installation arranged by local residents.

ஓசூர் விநாயகர் ஊர்வலத்தில் ஒருவர் பலி. ஓசூர் அடுத்த நஞ்சாபுரத்தில் பத்தடி விநாயகர் சிலையை கடந்த நாள் மாலை கரைப்பதற்காக, கிரேன் மூலமாக எடுத்துச் சென்ற நிலையில், கிரேனில் விநாயகர் சிலை உடன் பயணம் செய்த தனியார் நிறுவன ஊழியர் மின்சாரம் தாக்கி உயிரிழப்பு. கரைக்க எடுத்துச் செல்லப்பட்டது அப்பகுதி பொதுமக்கள் சார்பில் வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த சிலை எனவும், மின்சாரம் தாக்கப்பட்ட உடன் அவர் தனியார் மருத்துவமனைக்கு எடுத்துச் செல்லப்பட்டுள்ளார். அங்கே அவர் உயிரிழந்ததாக தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.
