A road blockade occurred on State Highway 85 between Hosur and Rayakottai near the Manjalagiri junction following a fatal accident this morning.

A resident of Manjalagiri reportedly died after being hit by a private school bus at the junction. Residents say that several accidents have previously occurred at the same location.

The protest briefly disrupted traffic during peak commuting hours, affecting employees travelling to nearby industries including Tata Electronics.

Police officials from Denkanikottai and Kelamangalam stations arrived at the scene and held discussions with residents before restoring normal traffic movement.

Residents have requested immediate installation of speed breakers and other safety measures at the junction.

இன்று காலை ஓசூர் அடுத்த மஞ்சளகிரி ஊர் செல்லும் சாலை சந்திப்பு பகுதியில், மாநில நெடுஞ்சாலையில் விரைவாக வந்த தனியார் பள்ளி பேருந்து மோதியதில், மஞ்சளகிரியைச் சேர்ந்தவர் பலியானார். இச்சாலை சந்திப்பில் இது நான்காவது சாலை விபத்து என்றும், இதுவே முதல் உயிர் பலி என்றும் பகுதி மக்கள் குறிப்பிடுகின்றனர்.

சினம் கொண்டு எழுந்த பொதுமக்கள், சாலை மறியலில் ஈடுபட்டனர். விரைந்து வந்த தேன்கனிக்கோட்டை உதவி காவல் கண்காணிப்பாளர் மற்றும் கெலமங்கலம் காவல் ஆய்வாளர் உள்ளிட்ட காவல்துறையினர், பகுதி மக்களுடன் பேச்சுவார்த்தை நடத்தி போக்குவரத்தை சீர் செய்தனர்.

உடனடியாக இப்பகுதியில் வேகத்தடை அமைக்க வேண்டும் என பொதுமக்கள் கோரிக்கை விடுத்தனர்.
