The traditional Kaman Festival, based on the mythological story of Lord Shiva burning Kama for disturbing his meditation, was celebrated by residents in the Denkanikottai region near Hosur.

Villagers conducted symbolic ritual enactments accompanied by drum performances. As part of the cultural tradition, a participant portraying Kama’s wife performed a ceremonial lament during the event.

The festival reflects the continuation of local folklore and community traditions in the region.

ஓசூர் அருகே "காம அரக்கனை" எரித்து கொன்றதாக தேன்கனிக்கோட்டை பகுதி மக்கள் ஒப்பாரி வைத்து மகிழ்ச்சியில் கொண்டாட்டம்.

சிவன் தவம் இருந்த பொழுது, அதை காமன் கலைத்ததாகவும், எரிச்சலுற்ற சிவன் காமனை கொன்றதாகவும் இப்பகுதி மக்கள் பழமையான கதை அடிப்படையில் மேளதாளங்கள் முழங்க "காமன் விழா" கொண்டாடினர்.

காமனுக்கு மனைவியாக ஆண் ஒருவர் பெண் வேடமிட்டு, பாடை முன் ஒப்பாரி வைத்து அழுவது போன்ற நிகழ்ச்சி விழாவின் ஒரு பகுதியாக நடத்தப்பட்டது.
