Fire accident near Hosur in a saw mill burnt expensive wooden logs and factory machines into ashes, creating loss of more than Rs 15 lakhs.

Subramani (54), living in Mullai Nagar on Rayakottai Road, has a sawmill in Uliyaalam village on Bagalur Road, near Hosur.  It is said that, he is running this sawmill in this area for more than 20 years now.

During evening of the fateful night, Subramani has locked his sawmill as usual.  On the wee hours of the next day, fire caught up due to unknown reason.  As weather was slightly windy, it boosted the fire and flames spread across the factory, burning down expensive wooden logs and the sawmill machines.

Subramani and his friends have tried to put the fire down by pouring water.  He has called up the fire service for help.  Though fire service personals tried their best, but all went in vain.

According to Subramani, the wooden logs include, Thekku, Onnai, Vengkai, Ekkasi and others.  Four sawmill machines were completely burnt to ashes.  It all worth about Rs 15 lakhs.

Power short circuit is now blamed for the fire.  Police and fire service personals are investigating.
