Attracted by beauty of a woman, who is mother of two, a man belonging to a village near Hosur, killed her husband to attain her.  Judgement was pronounced in a Hosur court in which the man was punished with 17 years imprisonment for his heinous crime.

Manjunath (46) lived with his wife Yashoda in  Kalu-kopa-chandiram village near Hosur.  The couple had two children, a boy and a girl.  Manjunath earn his income by working in farm fields as daily wage worker.

Manjunath had a friend named Venkatesh (52), who also work along with Manjunath as daily wage worker.

As Manjunath was not happy with the money he earns by working for others.  So, he along with Venkatesh decided to lease a farm land.  Both leased a land and started cultivating crops in the field.

To the field, Manjunath s wife Yashoda used to come and meet her husband.  Looking at Yashoda, Venkatesh was attracted and he planned to attain her.

As Venkatesh felt Manjunath is the barrier for his dream, he planned to kill Manjunath.

On the event day, that is 23rd February 2018, Venkatesh took Manjunath in his motor bike to Pikkana-palli village near Thenkanikottai.

Both of them have drunk, and Venkatesh took care to serve more alcohol to Manjunath.  While Manjunath lost his balance due to beverage intake, using the opportunity, Venkatesh took a boulder to smashed the head of Manjunath, killing him on the spot.  Venkatesh, took the dead body of Manjunath and hided the same between rocks.

As decaying body spread the smell across the farm fields of the area, farmers noticed the dead body and alerted Thenkanikottai police.  Police recovered the body and investigated the case to find that it belongs to Manjunath.

The crime came open, as several people have noticed Manjunath traveling along with Venkatesh in the bike.  When police did police enquiry with Venkatesh, Venkatesh confessed his crimes.

The case was heard at District Judicial Sessions court in Hosur by Judge Rosaline Durai.  Judge punished Venkatesh with 14 years imprisonment for murdering Manjunath and another 3 years for hiding the crime.  A penalty amount of Rs 4,000 was also slapped on him.
