It is said that Mariswamy Gowda aged 103 and his wife Marusudammal aged 96 were Freedom fighters and have participated in Uppu Sathyagrakam held at Vedaranyam alongwith Mahatma Gandhi.
The veterans were residents of Betta-muki-laalam village near Thenkanikottai near Hosur.
Felicitating their participation in Vedaranyam Uppu Satyagraham with Mahatma Gandhi, Vijay Makkal Iyakkam Krishnagiri district president Vadivel and others paid respect to them on Gandhi Birthday .
