The Hosur unit of the Dravidar Kazhagam conducted a protest outside Hosur Railway Station demanding that a caste-based census be conducted alongside the population census.

The protesters alleged that the Union BJP government was attempting to weaken caste-based reservations and criticised what they described as a lack of clarity over data sought by the judiciary.
