Mint cultivation is gaining momentum in the Shoolagiri region near Hosur, with more than 2000 acres reportedly under cultivation.

Shoolagiri has become a major trading hub for mint leaves, supplying markets across Tamil Nadu as well as other parts of India.

Farmers say mint is one of the crops that can provide good income during dry weather conditions. However, growers note that prices tend to decline between January and March each year.

Large-scale cultivation in the region also fills the surrounding countryside with the refreshing fragrance of mint.
