ஓசூர் மலைக் கோவிலை கட்டியது யார்?

பத்தாம் நூற்றாண்டு வாக்கில் கங்கர்கள், ஓசூர் மலை மீது கோவில் எழுப்பி உள்ளனர். இதை இரண்டாம் மாரசிம்மனின் ஆட்சி ஊழி கல்வெட்டுக்கள் உறுதி செய்கின்றன. அடுத்து வந்த சோழர்கள், இக்கோவிலை பெரியதொரு கோவிலாக கட்டியுள்ளனர். ராஜேந்திர சோழன் மற்றும் முதலாம் குலோத்துங்க சோழன் கல்வெட்டுக்கள் இவற்றிற்கு சான்றாக விளங்குகிறது.

அடுத்து வந்த ஒய்சாள அரசர்களான வீர விஸ்வநாதன், வீர நரசிம்மன், வீர ராமநாதன், வீர வல்லாளன், ஆகிய அரசர்கள் ஏராளமான நிலங்களை இக்கோவிலுக்கு கொடையாக கொடுத்துள்ளனர்.

இன்று சந்திர சூடேஸ்வரர் என்று அழைக்கப்படும் சிவபெருமான், செவிடை நாயனார் என்கிற பெயரை கொண்டு விளங்கியுள்ளார்.

1261-ம் ஆண்டு வாக்கில், திருபுவனமல்ல பூர்வாதிராச அத்தியாள்வார் மகன் தர்மத்தாழ்வார் என்கிற சிற்றரசன், மரகதாம்பிகையை எழுந்தருள செய்துள்ளார்.
