Meet Hosur’s own songbird – the Vannathi Kuruvi (Oriental Magpie Robin)! 🎶🐦 This small bird, about 20 cm in size, is easily spotted in Hosur’s green forests. With a white belly, glossy black upper body, and a sweet melodious call, it is one of the most beautiful birds found across Tamil Nadu.

Locally called Kundukkarichaan, these birds are seen more during monsoon, filling Hosur’s forests with music and life. 🌳🌧️

ஓசூர் வண்ணாத்தி குருவி, ஓசூரின் மற்றொரு அடையாளம்! ஓசூர் காடுகளில், பசுமையின் அழகை மேலும் மெருகூட்டும் பறவை இந்த வண்ணாத்தி குருவி! ஆங்கிலத்தில் ராபின் வகை குருவிகளில் வகைப்படுத்துகிறார்கள்.

சுமார் 20 சென்டிமீட்டர் உயரம் கொண்ட இந்த அழகிய பறவை, நெஞ்சு பகுதியில் வெள்ளை நிறமும், மேல்புறத்தில் கரு நிறமும் கொண்டவை. இவற்றின் பாடும் குரல், செவிக்கு இனிமை. இவற்றைக் குண்டுக்கரிச்சான் என்றும் அழைக்கின்றனர்.

மழைக்காலங்களில் ஓசூரின் பசுமை நிறைந்த காடுகளில் பெருமளவு காணப்படுகிறது. காடு நம் தலைமுறைகளை காக்க வேண்டும் என்றால், இத்தகைய அரிய இன பறவைகளை பாதுகாக்க வேண்டியது நமது கடமை.
