A protest was held near the Anna statue at Ram Nagar in Hosur on Tuesday, organised by the Dravidar Student Federation, opposing the proposal to implement NEET for paramedical courses. According to information, the Union Government plans to extend NEET to programmes such as Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy from the coming academic year. Protesters said the move could make access to medical education difficult for students from economically weaker and backward sections.
