In Hosur’s Anthivadi area, more than 100,000 sq. ft. of workshops are buzzing with activity — producing beautiful, colourful Vinayagar statues with intricate artistry.

These idols are made from Plaster of Paris (PoP), a material known for not dissolving in water, giving them a lasting look — but also raising quiet questions about environmental impact.

While the craftsmanship is remarkable and supports hundreds of migrant families, some wonder what happens to these statues after the celebrations end.

ஓசூர் பகுதியில் சுமார் ஒரு லட்சம் சதுர அடிக்கும் மேற்பட்ட பரப்பளவில் கொட்டகைகள் அமைத்து, சீனாவிற்கு போட்டியாக, தண்ணீரில் கரையாத, மக்காத தன்மை கொண்ட, உற்பத்தியாகும் உயர்தரமான, கலைநயம் கூடிய பல வண்ண விநாயகர் சிலைகள்.

ஓசூர் அந்திவாடி மற்றும் அதன் சுற்றுவட்டார பகுதிகளில், முழு வீச்சில், P.o.P எனப்படும் பிளாஸ்டர் ஆப் பாரிஸ் பயன்படுத்தி, அழகான வடிவங்கள் கொண்ட பலவகையான விநாயகர் சிலைகள் உற்பத்தி செய்யப்பட்டு, தமிழகம், ஆந்திரா மற்றும் கர்நாடகா முழுமைக்கும் அனுப்பி வைக்கப்படுகிறது.
