Residents of Chettipalli Maruthi Nagar near Kelamangalam, close to Hosur, have expressed concern that blasting activities from a nearby private factory may have affected the structural stability of a local overhead drinking water tank.

Locals claim that the pillars of the tank have weakened and cracks have appeared in several nearby houses.

Residents have appealed to the District Collector to intervene and conduct an inspection. They have requested that if damage is confirmed, the existing tank be removed and a new water storage facility be constructed with support from the concerned company.

ஓசூரை அடுத்த கெலமங்கலம் அருகே செட்டிப்பள்ளி மாருதி நகர் பகுதியில், தனியார் தொழிற்சாலை வைக்கும் வெடி, அப்பகுதியில் உள்ள மேல்நிலை குடிநீர் தேக்க தொட்டி தூண்களை சிதிலமடைய வைத்ததாக குற்றச்சாட்டு. மேலும் பல வீட்டு சுவர்களில், விரிசல் ஏற்பட்டதாகவும் மக்கள் கூறுகின்றனர்.

மாவட்ட ஆட்சியர் தலையிட்டு, வெடிவைத்து நீர் தேக்க தொட்டி பாதிப்புக்கு உள்ளாகி விட்டதால், பழைய நீர் தேக்க தொட்டியை அகற்றிவிட்டு, புதிய நீர்த்தேக்க தொட்டி, அந்தத் தனியார் நிறுவனத்தின் மூலம் அமைத்து தர, உடனடியாக நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டும் என அப்பகுதி பொதுமக்கள் கோரிக்கை விடுக்கின்றனர்.
