A robbery attempt targeting a 23-year-old woman was reportedly foiled near the newly developing National Highway area close to Grand Cinema in Hosur.

The suspect allegedly threatened the woman with a knife and attempted to steal her jewellery and mobile phone. The attempt failed after the woman raised an alarm, drawing the attention of nearby residents.

Members of the public detained the suspect and later handed him over to Mathigiri police. The accused, a 24-year-old resident of Amman Nagar near the Hosur Industrial Training Institute, has been arrested. Further investigation is ongoing.

பிடிபட்டவர், ஓசூர் தொழில் பயிற்சி கல்லூரி அருகே உள்ள அம்மன் நகர் பகுதியைச் சேர்ந்த 24 வயது இளைஞர் என தகவல். அவரை மத்திகிரி காவல்துறையினர் கைது செய்து விசாரணை மேற்கொண்டு வருகின்றனர்.
