Residents of Kottaiyur, near Anchetty in Krishnagiri district, have appealed to the District Collector to urgently repair a dangerous 4-meter stretch of road on the Kottaiyur–Gomarthanapalli route. According to the villagers, the damaged section has remained unattended for three years despite repeated petitions and has resulted in 10 fatalities, including the loss of a seven-month unborn baby. They are demanding immediate repairs, safety barriers, and proper street lighting to prevent further loss of life.

ஓசூர் அடுத்த அஞ்செட்டி அருகே, கோட்டையூரில் இருந்து கோமர்தனப்பள்ளி செல்லும் சாலையில், மூன்று ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன் குழாய்கள் பதிக்கப்பட்ட இடத்தில், அந்த 4 மீட்டர் சாலை பகுதி இதுவரை சீரமைக்கப்படவில்லை.

இரவு நேரங்களில் விளக்குகள் இல்லாததும், சாலையின் இருபுறமும் ஆழமான பள்ளங்கள் இருந்தும் தடுப்புகள் அமைக்கப்படாத நிலையில், சிறிய கவனக்குறைவில்கூட விபத்துகள் ஏற்பட்டு, இதுவரை 10 பேர் உயிரிழந்துள்ளதாக அப்பகுதி மக்கள் வேதனை தெரிவிக்கின்றனர்.

பலமுறை மனுக்கள் அளித்தும் நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்படவில்லை எனக் கூறும் பொதுமக்கள், கிருஷ்ணகிரி மாவட்ட ஆட்சியர் உடனடியாக தலையிட்டு இந்த உயிர்ப்பலிகளை தடுக்க வேண்டும் என்று கோரிக்கை விடுத்துள்ளனர்.
